We have been busy building a round house to protect us from the wind and rain during the cold winter months. Mike even lets us drink our hot chocolate and eat our snack inside.
The circle shape of the roundhouse is a primary shape and acts as a connecting hub at the Forest School site for the children to connect with each other and nature. Small, covered spaces are great for encouraging small group communication and conversation and what child does not enjoy building and spending time in a tent or den!

The Children built this Roadhouse
We have also built a table outside the Roundhouse for whatever activities take our fancy like threading and punching shapes in leaves or helping Ashlea cut up snack.
